Multidose workflow

Securely manage medications supplied in multi-dose vials while supporting patient-specific dispensing

  1. A multi-dose vial is stored in the main cabinet.
  2. The vial is removed as floor stock.
  3. Using clean technique, the medication is aliquoted into individual syringes, typically 1 mL or 2 mL depending on the site's internal process.
  4. The prepared syringes are stocked into OR cabinets.
  5. Syringes are dispensed per patient as needed throughout the day.
  6. At the end of the day, any remaining syringes are removed, documented as patient-expired inventory, and appropriately wasted.
